Reformer and Large Equipment Clinical Pilates

Reformer and Large Equipment Clinical Pilates

At Ashby Physiotherapy & Sports Injuries Clinic, Clinical Pilates is more than just exercise—it’s a tailored approach to movement, designed and guided by qualified physiotherapists to support your recovery, improve function, and build long-term strength.

We offer 1:1 sessions and small group classes (up to 4:1) in our fully equipped Pilates studio. Whether you’re managing pain, rehabilitating from injury, or enhancing performance, our team will personalise your program to meet your specific goals and needs.
Our studio features industry-leading equipment, including:

  • Reformer
  • Cadillac
  • Split Pedal Chair
  • Pilates Arc
  • Every session is carefully designed to improve core stability, posture, flexibility, and overall body awareness—all under the guidance of experienced professionals who understand your body from a clinical perspective.

Why Large Equipment Pilates with a Chartered Physiotherapist?

Pilates using large studio equipment—like the Reformer, Cadillac, Split Pedal Chair, and Pilates Arc—offers targeted, low-impact movement that can be safely adapted to all levels and conditions. When led by a Chartered Physiotherapist, this approach becomes even more powerful and personalised.

    Benefits include:

    • Clinical Expertise & Safety
Your physiotherapist has in-depth knowledge of anatomy, injury management, and movement dysfunction. This ensures exercises are not only safe but specifically tailored to your body’s needs—whether you’re recovering from injury, managing a chronic condition, or preventing future issues.
    • Highly Targeted Muscle Activation
Springs, pulleys, and adjustable resistance allow for precision in activating deep stabilising muscles—especially important for core, pelvic floor, and postural control.
    • Improved Strength, Mobility & Posture
The equipment supports and challenges your body in all planes of movement, helping to improve joint mobility, muscular strength, and alignment.
    • Faster, Safer Rehabilitation
With a physiotherapist’s clinical oversight, you can progress at the right pace for your condition, reducing the risk of setbacks and building long-term resilience.
    • Whole-Body Functional Movement
Large equipment Pilates trains your body in coordinated, functional patterns that translate to better movement in everyday life, sport, and work.

How Our Small Group Clinical Pilates Works

Our small group sessions (maximum 4:1 ratio) are designed to give you the benefit of a personalised Pilates program with the added motivation and support of a small group setting.
    Here’s what to expect:

    • Initial 1:1 Assessment
Before joining a group, you’ll have a one-on-one assessment with a Chartered Physiotherapist. This allows us to fully understand your goals, medical history, and movement patterns. From there, we’ll create a tailored Clinical Pilates program just for you—along with a complimentary home exercise plan to support your progress between sessions.
    • 6-Week Personalised Program
You’ll attend weekly small group sessions in our fully equipped studio, using apparatus like the Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, and Arc. Though you’re in a group, you’ll be following your own individualised plan under the close supervision of your physiotherapist. We’ll make modifications or progressions as needed each week to ensure you continue to build strength, mobility, and confidence safely.
    • Individual Review & Reassessment
After your initial 6-week block, you’ll return for a private review session. Your physiotherapist will reassess your progress, update your program, and set the next stage of your Pilates journey—whether that’s continued rehab, performance training, or ongoing maintenance.
